HARRISON RESIDENCE - CONCEPT INTERIOR DESIGN
The clients for this new family home wanted to create an interior that paired a clean, modern sensibility with a warm, industrial aesthetic.
The starting point for the interior design concept was the external finishes selected by the clients, which consisted of recycled look red brick, concrete and dark charcoal features. Bringing the external brick into the interior entry and open living walls, provided instant texture and character to the main areas of the home. Warm toned timber floors and cabinetry, concrete look stone bench tops, terrazzo and matte black fixtures add to the industrial aesthetic in an understated way, ensuring a timeless backdrop for the home to grow and evolve with the family over time.
A few small adjustments to the floor plan (that the clients had already developed) ensured that the layout was as efficient as it possibly could be. Adjustments included re-orientating the main stair to improve circulation flow, tweaking the kitchen layout to include a butlers pantry and modifying the bathrooms to improve functionality.
